My gf was looking at chopping in her little Panda 1.2 for the 100hp version but they didn't have one in. After looking at possible finance options for her, I wondered over to look at GP's rather chubby new big brother. Sat in it and was rather wow'd by the new departure in class of materials in it. I was amazed, it reminded me of an Alfa quite frankly. The dealer said did I want to try out a 150 mjet outside and gave me the keys. Popped out round the block (with dual carriageways) and could not believe how refined it was compared with my year old GP 1.9 So much quieter, yet the power came through strongly and the interior was quiet and german build quality. Seriously thinking of the Sport mjet now. The diesel yeah? Just had my mJET sport out for its first propper drive. A combination of motorways, A-roads, B-roads and even a couple of unclassifieds. I totally echo your comparisin to an Alfa. It feels like all the best parts of the Alfa's interior have been combined with a slightly more modern approach to give the Sport's interior. It was the Dynamic so not that sporty a suspension, same engine though. I used to own an Alfa 147, it just felt pretty similar. The 150 Sport isn't a go-kart so don't expect amazing handling, but it is a nice refined yet sporty ride. I test drove a 150MJET Dynamic today and was blown away by it. The interior cabin quality was a lot better than my present Seat Leon Stylance 1.9 TDI (Mk 2). No rattles or squeaks and the engine is a peach. The ride was comfy without wallowing and I thought the handling was spot on. Finding sixth gear does take some getting used to - anyone for second at 70mph (whoops). I've ordered one in the non metallic red with parking sensors - delivery should be in 10 weeks approx - may be sooner One thing I will miss that is standard on my Leon is the electrically folding door mirrors. (Useful on car ferries) I must admit I hadn't considered Fiat before this Bravo came along as I was scared off by the electrical gremlins that Fiats appeared to have. It's up to you lot to convince me otherwise! Well I've owned 3 Fiats and 1 Alfa and I've honestly had no problems there. The only issue has been the clutch on a (new) Panda - fixed by the dealer. Put it this way: in the same time I've had them my two brothers have had a lot more problems (including electrics) with their VAG stable cars.... Finding 2nd from 5th takes some doing.. finding 4th however is easier.. ooops Crazy thing about 6th gear is its about 80mph at 2000rpm.. Wonder how far around the rev counter the engine would go pulling 6th with a remap I've had a couple of electrical issues but never anything major. Can't say the same for friends and family with other brands. Fiat is really on a wave of improvement. I firmly believe it's working harder than most other manufacturers to create great cars.
