Playing musicYou can control the music played by your device in two ways. You can choose to listen to your music by category (artist, album or genre) using voice control. Managing the media libraryIf you're using Blue&MeTM with software earlier than version 5.4, it will build a media library when a device is connected to the USB port.  It doesn't download music onto the Blue&MeTM internal memory, it builds a media library on the USB device. You can play in continuous or random mode, or search by artist, album or genre. iPods and iPhonesNew generation iPods and iPhones are also compatible with Blue&MeTM. To play music without converting to MP3 format, you need a special adaptor that's available from the Fiat Accessories website or from your local Fiat dealer. It converts the music files on your iPod or iPhone so they can be played directly through the system. Older generation iPods are also compatible with Blue&MeTM, but the music must be in MP3 format. Updates Updating Blue&MeTM to version 5.4 If your mobile phone works fine with the version of Blue&MeTM currently in use in your car, there is no need to update your software. If you have purchased a new car with version 5.4 already installed (for example, the 500C or cars with Blue&MeTM Instant Nav), you dont need an update. It's quick and easy to update Blue&MeTM. It's designed to be updated regularly so it can be compatible with the latest mobile phones and media players. I was really annoyed that it didn't work. Looked at lots of forums and suggestions, such as disconnecting battery, using a brand new memory stick etc., none of which worked. My superstar IT-brilliant husband was not going to be defeated! He has finally solved it - Blue & Me Version 5.4.9 is corrupt and does not work (which is the one on the Fiat website - both .co.uk and .com). The version required is 5.4.11. As Blue & Me is generic across many car manufacturers, you don't need to find the file that is specific to Fiat - the version that we found was on a forum related to Alfa Romeo and it's worked perfectly. Using the Fiat Blue & Me adapter, I am delighted that I can now play all my songs downloaded onto my iPod via iTunes on a mac! I downloaded the software update as instructed and I too found version 9 didn't work. So i downloaded version 11 and it didn't work either! I then found a version 15 on the net so I tried that and my ipod still will not work with Blue and Me? When I loaded v11 B&M would not recognose MP3's either and I also lost some of my mobile functionality! Now I have loaded V15 and I am back to where I started from, B&M recognises my phone and will play MP3's.
