economical yet fun car to drive. She is beautiful to look at and to be in!! The only reason we are letting her go is that we no longer require two cars. Mine is too big for our needs so we want to get something middle sized so the fiat is the first to go. She has only been serviced by the main dealers once as is doesn`t yet need its second service, and that was done in January this year. The engine is very lively when required due to being fitted with a turbo selection button.The taxation class on this fiat is FREE!!! She isn`t due for an MOT until Feb 2014She is fitted with Fiat original alloy wheels that have never met a curb. The tyres are all in good condition with plenty of tread left on them as you would expect from a car that is only a year old. The script is the same as it was with the Mini and Beetle: the small, cheap, utilitarian car that became iconic through its engineering purity and brilliance is relaunched as a heavily styled object, with the emphasis on premium build and desirability. The original Nuova 500 was so basic that it was conceived partly as an alternative to a scooter; there was one engine option and it had just two seats (at launch), plus suicide doors. Pore over the options list of the latest 500 and you’ll find up to 549,396 different ways of specifying the car. But despite the obvious emphasis on novelty and design with this type of car, done properly the appeal need not necessarily subside. Because it’s solidly built and great to drive, the latest Mini has morphed successfully into a second-generation car in a way that, say, the less capable Chrysler PT Cruiser has not. And once the initial gloss wears off, the 500 will be expected to compete as a car, too. The question is, does it have the substance to match the style? The most famous 500 was rear-engined but it wasn't the first to bear the '500' name; that was the Topolino of 1936. It was replaced in 1957 by the Dante Giacosa-designed 500 Nuova, Giacosa having convinced Fiat with his 1955 600 that a rear engine was best for packaging. The 500, or Bambino, stayed in production until 1975 (3.6m were made) and was replaced by the 126. The Cinquecento tag (that's Italian for 500, by the way) returned in 1993 as a front-engined front-driver. And a debutant at the 2004 Geneva motor show, the Trepiuno concept, formed the design basis for the new 500. General » New Members » New 500 Lounge Blue&Me setup question Author Message GWMark Joined: 07-04-2010 Posts: 1 Posted: 07-04-2010, 12:07 PM New 500 Lounge Blue&Me setup question We took delivery on my wife's new car yesterday, a New Orleans Blue 500 Lounge. First impressions are great, but one issue with the Blue&Me system. The dealer paired my wife's phone, telling us that you could pair up to 4 phones with the car. He then tried to pair the Blue&Me Map with the car and it kept failing. So he decided it was faulty and gave us a replacement, Abarth version. This he also failed to pair, somebody else in the garage said you could only pair one device. At this point we left with the car and the un-paired Sat Nav. Latter, at home I paired the SatNav first try - but I did not have my wife's phone with me. However now it doesn't seem to recognise the phone as being paired. Does anybody know if you can pair the phone and the Blue&Me Map at the same time? I can't believe they are mutually exclusive - that seems plain daft. Surely it is a common thing to want to use a phone and Sat Nav in the same car? Can anybody help me, since the dealer seems fairly clueless? With regards the Blue & Me, although you can pair up to 4 devices, I think only one will work at a time. That is certainly the case with phones, so I imagine the sat nav will count too. If you have more than one phone switched to blue tooth in the car it will connect with the one that it most often connects to. I agree though, it's bit daft if you can't have the sat nav and a phone working at the same time.
