2012 & Tax until March 2012. | This is a little known car, though we had a friend who had one, and following owning a Fiat Punto and Stilo, we thought we`d give it a try, and it really is a great car and at a very low price too, because we need to sell it quickly! | We have owned this car for the last 20 months, and before that it was a friends company car through work on lease through Lombard Finance, though we bought it as part of his option to buy at the end of the lease because he didn`t need it. | Please Note: There has only been `One previous owner`, though the Registration Document shows `2` because Lombard Finance was entered twice on the DVLA system due to a clerical error, (verifiable with the DVLA), though they say they are unable to amend this error on the their system. | It has been a great and extremely reliable family car throughout, with plenty of room for the kids, prams and bikes etc., and although we would prefer to keep it, we unfortunately can no longer afford to have two cars due to redundancy. | As you would expect for a five year old car, it has the odd scuff etc., though it has been really well looked after. | PLUS, this car is also Fantastic in the snow, as we found out last Winter, because it was able get to places most of my neighbours with 4x4`s weren`t able to get, so the perfect car for the long Winter ahead. | It has been well maintained with a Full Service History and Four Services in the service book, the most recent being at 39K. | Here`s all the paperwork that comes with it:- Registration Document- ALL 3x MOT`s since new- 4x Tax Discs & bunch of service receipts- Original Blue Fiat Wallet & Blaupunkt Pin Code Card for CD Stereo- Original Fiat Manuals & Service Book- New alternator and battery with full warranty | If you have any questions, drop me a line or call 07949 074 495. | It`s extremely well priced at ONLY £2,497, first to see will buy,... and you`re welcome to arrange an AA or RAC inspection. | This is a lot of car for the money and easily worth £3,000+, (the same car is in a local garage for £3,495), but it has been priced to sell as soon as possible. | Many thanks,Pete X

In first gear it would only just pull up a small incline, the engine really laboured in revs. Afterwards (trying to slip the clutch to build up some power) >3500rpm it seemd ok. Another instant travelling at 50mph, in 6th, I tried to increase speed to 70mph, but it wasn't having any of it. I had to drop it down to 4th gear to get it to pick on revs and increase speed. Its basically un driveable. This sounds like something electronic? I had a look in the engine bay, and from what I could see (which isn't much) there were no leaks or apparent breakages, the oils ok and the engine sounds its usual self. Up till now I had been recommending this car because you get a lot for your money, but with the dealers stating they can't look at it for 3wks, I'm kind of worried and dissapointed. :-( Can anyone think whats wrong? phil Joined: 12-07-2007 Posts: 1,418 Location: jockland Posted: 11-02-2010, 8:53 PM Re: Fiat Bravo 150 Sport - Engine Power Problem hi mattgenerally if you don't have an warning light .it won't be electronic related....and may possible be a mechanical fault ....unfortunately with todays systems ,you may have a fault ,but with all the sensors fitted, they compensate...ie a blocked air filter ,a sensor monitors the air intake and adjusts the fueling to suit ...where as in pre ecu days you would have plums of black smoke from the exhaust....obviously not being able to experience what the car is doing ...i would check the air filter and egr valve to start with ...though if still under warranty ,it's a dealer job ...i can understand your concerns ...but surely all the fiat dealers acn't be that busy that they are quoting 3 weeks ,just to look at it .....being in the trade on the truck side (dealership) i really do not rate any car dealership ....customer service is terrible....they just want to do the simple things (easy money) give them a real problem and they are useless....the only suggestion i can give is ,if the car dealer can't fit you in ...try a fiat professional dealer ,that;s the van side of fiat ,,try and find one that also deals in trucks as they are generally open 24/7 ,will have a better understanding of diesel engines and generally if you drive in , though you may have to wait an hour or two ,will put the laptop on ,even if just to see if there are any stored /pending errors ...if they see a quick fix they generally do it there and then ..or if a longer fix will book it in and order the part there and then.....if you say where you are from i'll see if i can find a professional dealer for you ...technically i have heard professional dealers aren't meant to touch cars ,but not sure if that is true phil MATTB Joined: 11-02-2010 Posts: 3 Posted: 13-02-2010, 12:34 PM Re: Fiat Bravo 150 Sport - Engine Power Problem Thanks Phil, It still is under warranty and I had wondered if it was the EGR valve, all the symptoms seem to lead to this - something that I had never heard of before investigating my engine problem. Also what I didn't mention (which is also in the back of my mind) is that the car is due its 36k service in what would of been the next few weeks. So probably try and get that done at the same time. As for the dealerships I suppose its down to my geographical area (Bradford) where there is only one really local dealership, the others don't do warranty work anymore. For now I'm driving around in a 58Reg Skoda Fabia Estate 1.9tdie (Work pool car) - which is making me really appreciate the Fiat and its Quirks!!!!!!!!!!!!Cheers Matt MATTB Joined: 11-02-2010 Posts: 3 Posted: 07-03-2010, 4:45 PM Re: Fiat Bravo 150 Sport - Engine Power Problem job done as the EGR valve.Cheers gordi b Joined: 24-07-2010 Posts: 2 Posted: 24-07-2010, 7:29 PM Re: Fiat Bravo 150 Sport - Engine Power Problem hey, same thing just happened to my 57 plate Bravo Turbo diesel...was this an expensive fix? Let's have a fun look at the Fiat sliding scale from excellence to plop, shall we? Panda and 500? Class leaders and world beaters, characterful little machines full of sparkle and brio. Punto? Well, not quite as brilliant, but still proper Fiat fare; nippy, cute, quick and instantly recognisable, a refreshing Latin antidote to the anodyne Polo or anything Japanese of a similar size. Then we get to the car on this page, the new Bravo. We like it, quite a lot in fact, but it's slipping into slight mediocrity, holding on to some of the Punto's style and energy, but falling behind its rivals in other important ways. Things are tough in this class, hideously tough, whether it's the value end of the market with kit like the Kia Cee'd and Hyundai i30, in the centre with Focus and Astra, or higher up with the Volkswagen Golf and Audi A3. The Bravo is keenly priced, falling somewhere between Cee'd and Focus. It doesn't quite beat the Ford, but it destroys anything cheaper because it has proper character. And it's way, way better than whatever the larger Fiat is called. Er, I've forgotten. Cryo, Cromey, thing. The new Bravo deserves to sell well on its styling alone. You'd have to be a pretty harsh critic to call it ugly. Park it next to its rivals and there's no mistaking its sleek, Maserati-esque nose with its elongated headlights and bold grille - more than you can say for the Focus/Golf/Auris/Cee'd circus, which are playing it way too safe. The tail is neat and fuss-free, too. There's always demand for Italian flair and that's why Fiat is making such a tidy profit these days. Hop into the Bravo and you're greeted by a fresh, bright interior with plenty of contrasting textures and materials. High quality it's not, sadly, but at least it's different to the standard German, bland, black/grey fare. The dash has an organic sweep, with a driver-focused upper console and classic Italian-style embedded dials. It's not comfortable behind the wheel if you're tall. The driving position compresses your legs - a result, it seems, of pedals that are too far from the floor. Your ankles and knees flex severely and there's no foot rest. Not good. Still, the car rides well, points well and goes very well, especially this T-Jet 150, a 1.4-litre turbo with 150bhp. All of the engines are excellent, but the Bravo is too unrefined and unfinished to mix it with the best in this class. Maybe it's just too big to be a great Fiat. For the 2007 Bravo, see Fiat Bravo (2007). For the Vauxhall model with same name, see Vauxhall Brava. The name was revived for 2007 with an all-new replacement for the Stilo; the new version will use only the Bravo name and is not available with three doors. The earlier Brava/Bravo models were effectively two versions of the same car, the Bravo a three-door hatchback and the Brava a longer five-door hatchback. The name Brava was used in the United States on the earlier Fiat 131. The Bravo and Brava Mark 1 were replacements for Fiat's successful but ageing Tipo model. The cars came with all new engines, the base model using a 1.4 L 12-valve engine producing 80 PS (59 kW). Three other petrol engines were available: the 103 PS (76 kW) 1.6 L 16-valve; the 113 PS (83 kW) 1.8 L 16-valve engine and the top of the range 2.0 L 20-valve R5 unit used in the HGT model, which produced 147 PS (108 kW) and which could take the car to a maximum speed of 213 km/h (132 mph), later in 1999 the HGT 155 model replaced the older model, power rising to 155 PS (114 kW). Two turbodiesel engines were also available: both were 1.9 L four cylinder units, one producing 75 PS (55 kW) and the other making 100 PS (74 kW). Bravo/Brava was voted European Car of the Year on its launch. In 1996 the Bravo/Brava chassis spawned saloon and estate versions, badged Fiat Marea, a car which was aimed at Ford Mondeo and Opel/Vauxhall Vectra buyers which won praise for its large boot. Another car based on the Bravo/Brava underpinnings was launched in 1998: the curious looking Fiat Multipla, a six-seater compact MPV. The Bravo/Brava received a mild makeover in 1999 but there were few real changes except the replacement of the 1.4 12-valve engine with a 1.2 16-valve engine from the smaller Fiat Punto and a restyling of the dashboard. The 1.9 turbodiesel was also phased out in favour of 1.9 JTD diesel units (now with and 105 PS (77 kW)), to give even better economy and refinement. By 2001, however, the Bravo/Brava range was looking increasingly dated in the face of new competition like the Ford Focus and Peugeot 307. The Bravo/Brava was discontinued in late 2001, and replaced by the all-new Fiat Stilo, which would be ultimately a sales flop in most countries.
